Amity Stevens, MS, OTR/L is the first, and currently the only OT in the world that is certified by ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) as an Autism Exercise Specialist. Regular exercise can improve behavior, focus, social skills, language development, and overall personal fitness.
Small groups and individual sessions are available.
We all know daily exercise is good for everyone, but for kids and adults with Autism there are even greater benefits. An increase in eye contact, posture, motor coordination, and overall muscle tone have been noted with the implementation of a consistent exercise program.
“Our National Survey of Autism Treatment Effectiveness, based on over 700 autism families, found that exercise was the number 1 rated treatment overall, with a rating of 4.2/5, substantially higher than the 2nd highest rated treatment with a 3.8/5.” – James B. Adams, PH.D. – Arizona State University
